Execution of the MATATAG Curriculum

The DepEd has been working closely with schools, educators, and the above-mentioned support systems to implement the curriculum framework. Furthermore, it will follow a phase-wise implementation in the SY 2024-2025 for Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 4, and Grade 7.

Also, Grades 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10 will follow the 2016 K–12 Basic Education Curriculum (BEC) and will incorporate the MATATAG curriculum gradually as per the implementation plan. Furthermore, the execution of the new curriculum will entail the following components:

• The Curriculum and Teaching Strand (CT) will supervise the implementation of the curriculum through the Bureau of Learning Development (BLD) and the Bureau of Curriculum Development.
• The Regional Offices (ROs) shall ensure the implementation of the curriculum at the regional level with the help of the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD).
• The School Division Offices (SDOs) shall ensure the implementation of the curriculum at the division level through the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID). In addition, the school heads or authorities will supervise the effective implementation at the school level.
• All strands and relevant functional divisions and offices across the governance level should provide the necessary support for implementing the MATATAG curriculum.
